Hello, i would like to know if the ADS5295 Evaluation Module has ac coupled inputs, and if the lvsd to hsmc bridge is compatible with ALtera FPGAs(Terasic DE2i-150 in particular). Thanks a lot.

Hi,
The FMC bridge adaptor outputs data onto the ASP-127797-01 FMC connector. If the FPGA of interest can mate to this connector then this adapter card should work for you.
Also, the ADS5295 analog inputs can be AC or DC coupled as shown in Figures 47-48 of the datasheet. If DC coupled is used, then care must be taken to ensure the DC level reflects the specified value in the datasheet- 0.95V+/-0.05V.

Christian
Hello Christian thank you for the quick reply, do you know also if on the evaluation board AC coupling is set by default or it is settable using some kind of jumper? Since the documentation is not so clear about this.
Alessandro
Hi,
The EVM User's Guide for the ADS5295 which is available on the TI website contains the EVM schematics. Pages 42-43 show the analog inputs are AC coupled into the device. However, the DC bias point is provided by a DC path to the VCM pin of the device. The output of this pin complies with the 0.95V bias requirement.

Christian
