TSW1400EVM with ADS62P49EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS62P49

I have a recently purchased TSW1400EVM I am testing with an ADS62P49EVM as described under section 4.2 of the High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI users guide.

I configure both boards as described with the appropriate power, clk and input sources but I notice when I load the firmware for the ADS62p49_cmos option all of the user LED's do not light as described in the document. User LED 3 and 4 (D5 and D6) do not come on.  More importantly when I setup the GUI as described and perform a capture I get an error "Read DDR to file TIMED_OUT_ERROR Time Out error" could you please provide me with information on how to proceed to trouble shoot this issue further.

On the status line in the GUI I see "Start ADC to GUI", then Read DDR to file immediately followed by a pop up window with the error above.

I'm running v4.00 of the software, version 0.2 of the firmware, the board serial number is KS692250, Interface type set to CMOS_LSB_0SKP.

Thanks,

Larry

  • Larry,

I am guessing you did not configure the EVM for output CMOS mode. See section 2.2.5 (below) in the user's guide. If you did this already, my next guess would be your input clock does not have enough amplitude. If you are using a filter, you may have to increase the amplitude of the source so that the amplitude of CLKP and CLKM, measured across the outputs of C89 and C90 is within specification of the device.

  • Thanks I do not have the buffers U12 and U13 installed.  Was just going off the instructions in the High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI User's Guide. The setup pictured in that guide doesn't have those installed either.  I'll try that or using it in LVDS mode.
