DAC5662A: Output regulation with variable amount of IOUTFS (IREF ) by an operational aplifier

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC5662A

Hallo support team,

we want to use the DAC5662A in order to drive our outputsignal. The outputcurrent should be variable in a range of 20dB.

The outputcurrent is controlled by IOUTFS (IREF=32xVREF/RSET).

Is it possible to control this outputcurrent by an operational amplifier, which control the BIASJ_A and BIASJ_B outputcurrent ?

Do you have a suggestion about  an regulation circuit?

We want to vary the outputcurrent from 2mA to 20mA (20dB).

Thank you in advance for answering my question.

Kind Regards

R. Thomas

  • Hi Robert,

You can apply external reference voltage at EXTIO pin. Please make sure you are within the compliance voltage for EXTIO pin (0.1V to 1.25V). And use appropriate resistor on BIASJ_A and BIASJ_B pins to ground. You should be able to vary the external reference voltage and IOUTFS should vary accordingly.
