250kHz Sinwave using DAC

Hi all,

Our customer would like to make 250kHz Sinwave using DAC and Amp.
What type of DAC or Amp should we use?
If you have some advice, could you let us know?

And then, we consider followings;
-About the points of period of the sine wave, we guess that our customer maybe need at least 10 points or max 20 points.
-The amplitude of the sine wave be -5V upto 5V.
-About other design idea,  we make the design using CPU(C2000).

We need your help.

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi team

We're sorry to bother you, but if you have some information, could you give us?

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Hirotaka,

That is a very low frequency sinewave. Does the processor have any aux DACs that can be used to generate the signal? The output can then be buffered by an amp.

What kind of digital interface do you have? With that information we can narrow down the list of DACs that they can use. In general we have CMOS and LVDS interfaces.

If your signal remains at this low frequency, perhaps a low frequency precision DAC would be more appropriate - typically these precision DACs will operate less than 2-5Msps max.

With more information we will be better able to help you.

  • Ken san,

    Thank you for your reply!

Our customer's stage is in the development.
At first, we suggest the processor which have any aux DACs that can be used to generate the signal.
So, we will check the DACs operate less than 2-5Msps max.

    kind regards,
