ADS1298R EVM - Analog output available? and Output Data format

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R, ADS1298

Hi,

I want to purchase and ADS1298R, and its EVM, but for my design I need to take ECG samples from subjects simultaneously with another vital sign measurement. My question is, can I get an analog output out of the EVM and for example input it on a DAC dor example to record it and do some signal processing on it?

second question: It says in the features that I can output raw data, in what form do I get it?!

  • Hello Thaer,

I am moving your post to the Precision Data Converters Forum that handles queries related to the ADS1298 device.
  • Hey Thaer,

I'm not sure I understand what you want to do. The ADS1298R is an analog to digital converter so the outputs of the device are digital codes. Do you wish to process these signals digitally? Analog input signals for the EVM should be generated by you through a signal generator or a patient simulator. The format of the data is 24-bit 2's complement binary. A full description can be found on page 54 of the ADS1298R datasheet.
