REGARDING AFE4490

I am using AFE4490. the sampling rate used is 500hz. when the finger is placed in the sensor. the pleth component(IR signal) is reflected in the ambient signal which is calculated  when ir and red leds are in off condition. when the sampling rate is changed from 500hz to 100hz. then the IR signal that is pleth component is not reflected in the signal and it is always a constant value when finger is present. but by reducing sampling rate the quality of the signal is affected. I tried to use averaging the ADC output but it didn't help. can u give me a solution with 500hz how the pleth signal can be avoided reflecting in ambient ?
