Hi Team,
I was wondering what parts that we have that may be appropriate in a situation where one needs to interface with a touch screen wearing leather gloves. I imagine a resistive screen would be appropriate for this. What are some key characteristics to take into consideration when choosing a touch screen controller?
Hi Akash,
You are very right. Resistive touch controllers are the right choices for your application. Regarding how to choose a resistive touch controller, the first question is will you use a 4 wire resistive touch screen panel? Basically the 4 wire resistive touch panels are the most common ones in the market. If your answer is yes, TI can offer you a variety of different types of touch controllers. Depending on what communication interface you want to use (I2C/SPI) and how powerful the host processor is, you can make different decisions. I suggest you take a look at this app note: www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa359/slaa359.pdf.
