ECG measurement

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4300

For ECG signal acquisition using the AFE4300  I followed these steps :

1)      I connected the electrodes in J56(1-2), as in figure 1.

Figure 1

2)      I connected the USB cable to the J1 connector on the MMB3 board.

3)      I start the Software and I selected  the Device Configuration tab. Next I chose the Weight Scale Control subtab and I Selected the INP1 and INM1 channel. I turn ON the WS

Figure 2

4)      The next steps was: I selected the ADC Capture & Analysis tab and I set the Capture Mode to Continuous.

Figure 3

I followed all these steps and i got the signal of figure 3. The electrodes are not connected to the body.

When I connect the electrodes on the body (on hands) I get the same signal but with another amplitude.

Figure 4

Another way I tried the acquisition is: I connected the terminals copper coil(spirei de cupru) off steering wheel in J56(3-4), how is shown in figure 5.

Figure 5

The signal when I don’t put the hand on the steering wheel is:

Figure 6

When I put the hand on the steering wheel is:

Figure 7

I made zoom on the signal :

Figure 8

The difference between the signal to the electrodes and signal to the coil is :

-          The signal to the electrodes is the same when the electrods is connected or not

-          The signal to the coil is not the same, he changes when I put the hand on the steering wheel.

Questions:

1. How can measurement the ECG signal?

2.what electrod can use?

3.can connect the electrodes on the hands?
