SFH7050 Sensor Placement

Hello,

Does the SFH7050 Sensor must be placed on the separate Board ?

Is there any necessity to place only the Sensor part on the separate Board ? Will the Efficiency, be good in this case ?

Or even if it is placed on the supply board(including AFE4490,SFH,other IC's & Supply) , will it be fine ?

Is there any impact of any other electronics components (like, capacitors,resistors etc) which is being placed next to the SFH7050 Sensor ?

Please suggest me on this immediately..

Hello Harini,

The placement of the optical sensor depends on the application. We kept the sensor on a separate board so that the users can easily swap the sensor boards shipped along with the TI Evaluation module.

The application section (section 9 in the datasheet) and layout guidelines section (section 11) describe some of the careabouts and caveats for the design implementation.
