Can ADS1251 use single end input?

(+Vin input is voltage, -Vin is GND.)

    Hi Satoshi-san,

    Yes, the ADS1251 can be used in a single-ended input configuration. If you look at the data sheet, the absolute input voltage allows for minimum input voltages of -0.3V.

    With the negative input tied to GND, the positive input can be more more than +Vref (and Vref cannot exceed Vdd). Therefore, you should be able to measure input voltages between 0-5V.

    Regarding your input circuit, I would caution about intentionally placing a capacitor between "-In" and GND. This can have the effect of making the circuit unstable. However, if the input source has some parasitic capacitance, then it would be important to consider this capacitance when simulating the above circuit to evaluate stability!
