Hello,

Are there any plan to release of Low Power Spply (1.8V(min)) version of  ADS1248?

Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka

  • Hi Ryuji,

thank you very much for your question. There are currently no plans for a 1.8V power supply version of ADS1248. To be honest I don't know how feasible to implement and how useful to use a precision ADC would be with a 1.8V analog supply. Especially when you have features such as a PGA, a voltage reference and excitation current sources integrated.
What we are already doing today is to offer devices where the digital supply can operate down to 1.8V but the analog supply is still higher. ADS1292 and ADS1271 are examples.

The ADS1220 is a device with similar features to the ADS1248. It has less input channels but can operate down to 2.3V.
I believe that is the only 24-bit ADC in our portfolio that has such a low analog supply.

In the 16-bit ADC space we have the ADS1115 and ADS1118 which can operate down to 2V.

What would be the application of your customer in this case that would require such a low supply voltage?

  • Hello Joachim san,

    Thank you for the reply.
I will inform the application by private message after I can send message to you.
