Some questions about AFE4404

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4404

Hi, I decided to use AFE4404 and SFH7060   for a heart rate monitoring application, the power supply of RX_SUP ,TX_SUP and IO_SUP is 3.3V. is it no problem? The Voltage of  TX_SUP is 4V in the datasheet of AFE4404.

  • Hello,

    The RX_SUP and IO_SUP can be 3.3V.

For the TX_SUP, the recommended operating conditions listed below should be met. Refer to AFE4404 datasheet (page5) for more details.
    i.e., for 50mA mode, max(3V, 0.5V + max forward voltage (Vf) of the LEDs at 50mA) < TX_SUP < 5.25V
    for 100mA mode, max(3V, 1V + max forward voltage (Vf) of the LEDs at 50mA) < TX_SUP < 5.25V

Please refer to the SFH7060 datasheet for the forward current vs forward voltage of the three emitters.
For example, if the Vf of the LED is 3.8V at 100mA, then TX_SUP > 4.8V.
