ADS1293 Clipping with two channels

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1293

Hi,

We are trying to get two channels using 3 probes (Without RLD). We could get single channel correctly. We are testing on custom made design. When we apply zero voltage deference between INA+ and INA- we get output around 0x780000 something. So we tried using zero test signal same results. But this problem was not there when we getting single channel with RLD.

We configured ADS1293 as follows to get 800 Samples/s

R1=2, R2=8, R3=16.

We checked Reference Voltage. It was 2.391V.

We power the chip using 3V Battery.

Analog Power Source is same to Digital Power Source. No separate power sources.

Thank you.

  • The RLD connection is a low impedance path between the patient's body and the ADS1293, it acts as a ground reference between the two. If it is not connected, the inputs will be floating and with baseline wondering the signal can go out of the input range, resulting in clipping of the signal. You may want to consider programming the Flex Routing MUX of the device to establish an internal connection between the  RLD amplifier output and one of the input channels.
