<2 INL Precision 12 bit DAC -55degree operation

Hi,

Does Ti provide any precision 12 bit DAC with <2LSB INL and operating from -55degC to +125degC?

I want to generate a 1KHz sine wave of amplitude ~2.5V.

I am not too much worried about the offset voltage (I can tackle offset voltage) but the gain error must be <0.05% FSR.

Power Supply: 3.3V

Protocol: SPI / I2C

No of channels: 1, 2 or 4 channels.

    Do you only have the one supply, 3.3V?  If so I would recommend you take a look at a the following TI Design:

    This design explains how to create a single supply unipolar MDAC output with the DAC7811.  This is a 12-bit MDAC with an extended temperature range of -40C to 125C. INL, also termed relative accuracy, is +-1LSB, with a typical Full-scale gain error of 0.05%.

    Update - It does look like you will need to increase your single supply to 5.5V to use the configuration explained in the pdf.

    I believe the -55C to 125C temperature range is generally referred to as military grade, while the -40C to 125C is considered to be automotive or extended grade.  I don't believe we have any devices that are similar to the DAC7811 device under the military grade temperature range, but I'll double check with colleagues to verify.  In the meantime (and out of curiosity), can you give us more insight into the application that may require this temperature range.

    Have you looked into the DAC8830/DAC8831 devices, which are 16-bit devices? They feature 2.7V to 5.5V Single-Supply Operation, with a max INL of 1LSB, and max gain error of 0.01%FSR. They are enhanced products with a -55 to 125C Operating temperature range.

    For 12-bit resolution, the parametric search displays products such as the TLV56(14/18/38) and TLC5618 devices. These devices operate within the specified temperature range, and display a max INL of 4LSB, and a max gain error of 0.6%FSR.
