Hello,

I am currently evaluating the ADC34J45EVM evaluation board. The user manual is missing the very important aspect of either using a 10MHz input reference frequency, or using an external ADC sampling clock.

The clock distribution chip does not lock to CLKIN input. I have tried reference frequencies of 10MHz and 100MHz, but the PLL1 does not lock to the reference.

Please advice me about how to use the reference frequency input CLKIN and what kind of configuration in the register map of the LMK04828 clock generation chip.

Narek,

It is possible to drive the EVM with an external clock source. Are you able to provide a 2x or higher ADC clock signal source? If so I can send you a config file to take care of this. It will in essence use the clock coming in on J10 and distribute this appropriately to the system.

Yes, I am able to provide a 2x or higher ADC clock signal to J10 connector, so please send me the config file.

Here is the 2xADC clock config. You can load this using the ADC3k GUI, and then input a 2x ADC clock into J10.

Narek,

I can't seem to link to your request from yesterday. It only brings up this post. I have tried it with TSW14J56, but it should work the same for the TSW14J50 as the config file for the ADC EVM is the same for both eval platforms. If it works for J56 it should work for J50 as well.

I will set it up in the lab and try the file I sent you along with the same clock connections to confirm that it works as expected on TSW14J50.
