ADS1293 usage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1293

Hello ,

I have been using ADS1293 evaluation module, for acquiring ECG signals. But the capabilities of ADS1293 is very high ( which is programmable anything).

A normal ECG signals or Pace signals can be captured at around 60 Hz by setting the decimation filters and the sampling frequency is 104200 Hz.

But, whenever I tried to decrease the decimation rate or increase the sampling rate,  I could not find any ECG signal.

Then why that much high specifications required like sampling frequency - 2048400 Hz  and channel capability upto 25.5 Ksps.

Please let me know any other used case or for capturing any other bio-medical signals.

Thank You

  • Hello,

The ADS1293 was designed only for ECG signals.  The two frequencies you mention, 102.4 kHz or 204.8 kHz are the internal clock of the Sigma-Delta Modulator.  The user can select 102.4kHz for a lower power operation with a lower resolution signal or use 204.8kHz for a higher resolution signal, but the part will use more power.
