Electromyography EMG circuit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1291, ADS1292ECG-FE, INA128

Hi,

does anyone have experience with simple EMG device design using ADS1291 (Low-Power, 2-Channel, 16-Bit Analog Front-End for Biopotential Measurements )?

Do you have any suggestions about that circuit? Any design?

Thank you

  • Hi Marc_o,

Have you reviewed the ADS1292ECG-FE documantation yet? That would be a good place to start.
  • Hi,

    thank you for your answer.

yes, I checked it thank you.

If I understand correctly those connections below... can you please check it? I am not sure because of the amplifier - gain 12 is probably not enough for EMG (as it needs at least 100 or 1000... )

On the other hand I was wondering if it would be enough only to choose INA128 and one data acquisition card...

Is it OK if I connect reference electrode to the ground?

    What do you suggest?

    Thank you

  • Hi Marc_o,

Yes, that would be fine. I'd suggest that you use a fixed resistor to set the gain on the INA though. Starting with a pot to prototypr is fine, but once you've decided on a value, change the pot to a fixed resistor.
