AMC1305 - maximum sampling rate

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask AMC1305?
How much is the maximum sampling rate of AMC1305? 78kSPS?
We think that input band width is typ 800kHz.
So, is it possible to sample 800kHz?

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hi Matsumoto-san,

    The AMC1305 is not a traditional delta-sigma data converter, it's only got the modulator portion so technically its 'sampling' at the modulator clock speed. The 78ksps you mention is the data rate, which is determined by the digital filter you need to implement on the bit stream of data coming from the device. In the datasheet, the specifications are based on a Sinc3 filter with an OSR of 256. To get a data rate of 800ksps, your OSR would need to be 25, which is going to give you about 9 bits effective resolution (see Figure 50).

    Thank you for your reply!
    OK, we got it.

    Kind regards,

  • Tom san,

    Just in case, we recognize as followings;

    -Sampling(rate) = depending on modulator clock speed
    -Data rate = data conversion speed 78kSPS

    Is it correct?

    Kind regards,
