how can i measure voice signal from this kit ?

l have a kit and i read ecg very good but i want to measure voice signal can anyone help me please

  • Hey Ahmed,

This eval kit is not designed for voice audio measurement. In fact this ADC's fastest sample rate is 32 kSPS and uses a low pass filter that has a -3 dB point at about 8 kHz which is probably too slow to capture audio. That being said, I'm sure you could find a microphone that you could connect to the inputs in some way to test it.

  • thank u very mush i know that texas instrument respect their client i am really love to deal with u
but sorry i have a question when i want to choose kit to measure Subvocal recognition what is characteristics to choose kit about it and if texas instrument has a kit suitable to my requirement please tell me?
    thank u a lot ..
  • Hey Ahmed,

After looking into subvocal recognition briefly, I don't think you actually want to measure audio frequency. Is that correct? You're more interested in measuring the signals generated by muscles in the throat. If that is the case, you might be able to use the ADS1299. However, I have to tell you that you should not connect the evaluation kit to a human since it is not cleared by any regulatory agencies for that purpose. The evaluation kit is for performance evaluation only with a signal generator or simulator.

Can you tell me more about the signals you want to measure to tell if the ADS1299 is a good chip to use for this?

  • yes , you are right,i want to measure electrical signals generated by muscles in the throat

    thank u again
  • Hey Ahmed,

That looks amazing! Do you know anything more about the electrical signal amplitude or frequency? Do you know how many conversion channels you will need?

  • unfortunate , i do not know enough information
do texas instrument made something like this before ?or made any research or any kits in this ??
  • Hey Ahmed,

Unfortunately TI is not familiar with this type of measurement. I would say that most of the time, our customers have the key clinical research and knowledge for breakthrough medical applications such as this. Then we as a chip vendor develop products that can meet those requirements from an electrical point of view. Our knowledge of medical sciences tends to be rather limited when it comes to burgeoning fields of research.

    Sorry!

i will keep dealing with texas instrument
