I have a customer who intends to use ADC12D1800RF in a satellite application, they would like to check if this part has been deployed before in space related application.

    Hi Ivan

    We do not believe the ADC12D1800RF has been used in a space application. It will have single event effect issues and is not recommended for use in space.

    The space grade part is the ADC12D1600QML-SP.

    Can you give us more details on the customer needs and application?

    Application is communication Satalite

    1) Like to check why ADC12D1800RF has poor radiation performance?

    2) If TI have EVM of ADC12D1800 with FMC interface?

    The ADC12D1800RF is susceptible to ion strikes that can cause the unit to shut down or reset.

    The ADC12D1600QML-SP does not have this issue.   It could be run at 1800 GSPS by following the same procedure for the register settings as shown in the ADC12D1800RF datasheet.   However we currently do not test the part at this high of a sampling rate and do not have data for it.
