ADS1292 EVM windows 10

HI,

I am having trouble to get the EVM working on Windows 10. It is not communicating with the boards. I have disabled the digital signing of the driver in Windows 10 and reinstalled the driver using the option of "have disk" and pointed to the 'inf" file that was there in the USB drivers folder. After the update the only port that I see is of 'ADS1x9x ECG Recorder" and I do not see the other 2 ports namely

RIM virtual port

as shown on the user guide page 16 figure 18.

Anyone who has had it running successfully on the Windows10 please suggest as to how to proceed.

Regards

  • Hi Viney,

Do you have access to a Windows 7 or 8 machine? That would be the quickest way to get started using the ADS1292EVM. The SW was built for Windows 7 and some folks here have managed to get it working on Windows 8.
  • Tom,
Unfortunately I don't have access to Windows 7 m/c. I have seen posts where people have managed to get it working on the Win10 as well but i am not able to do that. I have tried to follow the procedure but am not able to get it to work.

  • Tom,
I got hold of the Windows 7 machine and even on that the only one port is seen that is the "ADS1x9x ECG Recorder" and is seen on COM3, If I change it to a port number greater than 25 (COM25) the EVM does not connect. But with COM3 port it does communicate and the live ECG is seen on the GUI. Could you please let me know why the other ports are not seen as shown on the user guide.

  • Hi viney,

If you open up the device manager, go to Ports (COM & LPT) and then right click on the ADS1x9x - ECG Recorder, you can go to the Port Settings -> Advanced and change the COM Port Number there (to 26 if you like). You have to reset the board (press SW1) and then the SW should recognize the new port number.
