About ADS8558's power suuply sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8558

Hello to whom it may concern.

The ADS8558's datasheet is written like below;

(P39  9 Power Supply Recommendations)
"Generally, there are no specific requirements with regard to the power sequencing of the device. However, when HVDD is supplied before AVDD, the internal ESD structure conducts, increasing IHVDD beyond the specified value."

Q1 : When HVDD is supplied before AVDD,is the device be damaged?

Q2 : If Q1 is yes,is there specification of rising up time to AVDD from HVDD?

Q3 : When HVDD is supplied before AVDD,what ampere does IHVDD become?

Best regards,

Manabu ito

  • Hello Manabu Ito-san,

    Unfortunately we do not have characterization data to answer Q2 and Q3. With regard to Q1: most likely the device will not be damaged under normal conditions.

    The best approach would be to enable AVDD and HVDD concurrently.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Jose
