A quick question about the ADS1220:

If I only send the RESET command (0x06) to ADS1220, will this reset all the registers of ADS1220 to their default values (all 0s)?

Hi Wen,

Sending the RESET command will reset the ADS1220 registers to the default values. However, communication to the ADS1220 can only take place if both AVDD and DVDD supplies are at a valid voltage supply level.

Bob; Thanks for the quick reply. But after I sent the RESET command to ADS1220, the register values are not reset to default; they still contain the same value as before the reset. The AVDD and DVDD are all good; in fact, I did not touch the supply, all are software operations. At least in our system, it seems that the register values have not been reset. Have you tried on the ADS1220 EVM? (again, use software RESET command only)

Hi Wen,

If you are using the ADS1220EVM, the RESET command function is not called due to causing synchronization issues with the GUI. Sending the RESET command will function if it is correctly called within a designed application.

I am not using ADS1220EVM. We have our own hardware system which has a ADS1220.

I would probe and just make sure that something simple in the communication isn't going wrong....like CS not going low.
