TSC2017 behavior (without touch-panel)

Hi,

Let me ask you one question about the behavior of TSC2017 w/o touch-panel.

Is there any problem for TSC2017 to use without touch-panel? (X, Y : Open)

I am concerning following issues as of now.

 - TSC2017 has possibility to be broken?

 - It maybe happen "IRQ" from TSC2017?

 - It maybe send out something data from I2C data line?

 - etc

I suppose it seems to be possible to use TSC2017 without touch-panel.

But if you have any idea about this, please let me know.

    Hi Takumi,

    Is there any particular reason for you to use the TSC2017 without any touch panel? The TSC2017 is a pure slave device. If it doesn't detect any touch, you will never see the /PENIRQ go low. Similarly, if you don't read data from it, it will not send out anything by itself.

    Thank you so much for your reply.

    I understood.

    The reason is, I'm not sure, but probably just mass-production issue at customer factory site.

    There are some products without touch-panel among normal products with touch-panel.
