AFE4490 EVM - MSP430, Firmware and Source Code

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4490

Hi,

Could you share the source code, firmware for MSP430 on the AFE4490 EVM Module. & also how do you upload your own code to MSP430 on EVM?

Thanks,

Joshua

  • Hi Joshua,

The EVM firmware source code can be accessed at the AFE4490 product folder at ti.com
Here is the link for your reference.
    www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

There are multiple ways to upload the code to the MSP430 on the EVM.

    1. Through JTAG (using J3 on board):
This requires a special JTAG cable from Tag Connect.
Here is the link to the Tag Connect website: www.tag-connect.com/TC2050-IDC-430

    2. Using the Firmware Upgrade feature from the AFE4490 EVM PC GUI. Of course you can only do this once.

    3. Through the BSL loader:
To get into the BSL mode, press and hold SW2 switch (the switch is located closer to the J4 mini USB connector) on the EVM while plugging in the mini USB interface cable to the J4 mini USB connector on the EVM. Release SW2 after a few seconds.
Now run the Firmware Upgrade EXE located at the Firmware Updater folder at the default installation directory : C:\Program Files(x86)\Texas Instruments\AFE44x0SPO2EVM GUI\Firmware Updater
Follow the procedure from point #3 of section 6 of the AFE4490 Users guide to update the firmware.
