How do I communicate with AFE4490 EVM through generic serial com port applications like Putty to get a continuous stream of register data?

The AFE4490 EVM Firmware source code directory contains the Message Communication Protocol v4.0 - AFE44x0EVM
The document lists the commands to send to the EVM for reading and writing to the registers, read ADC data etc.,

I figured that, but could you tell me method to send these commands to the AFE4490 EVM. from a Windows 7 PC. I can't seem figure out how to send these commands to the EVM.
