Looking for help on the chip chosen

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DDC112

I'm working on a project in which the quantitative value of current/capacitance change is required.

The power is supplied by usb interface. And the output will be transformed to digital value and sent out to the usb host.

The range of input current is between fA and pA.

Which adc should be used? Is amplifier required?

Thanks very much!

  • Weizhi,

This isn't something that I normally support, but you might want to look at the DDC112. It is an ADC that measures current in similar ranges.

There is an EVM available that you can you can connect with a computer through a USB connection. Note that the software was designed using Windows XP and I'm not sure if it will be compatible with newer versions of Windows. Again, I've never used this device, and you may want to read up about it and the EVM before deciding what you want to do.
