Hi. I Designed an arduino board for accusation of EEG signals with ADS1299 but when i tried to solder the ADS1299 on the board, pin DRDY and pin DVDD soldered together by mistake, after that when i started board ADS1299 became overheated. I disconeected the pins by soldering them again but for the second time that i want to power it up, again it was overheated .in a test, i stop to give supply voltage to the speific DVDD pin and this time, ADS1299 did not get overheated but the circuit and board aren't working as well .is ADS1299 damaged? or my Schematic and circuit is wrong ? if i Replace ADS1299 with a new one, will it work?

    Looking at the schematic, the only thing I found that could be causing overheating is pin 64 being tied directly to ground. This pin should be left floating. If you are using solder paste and a reflow oven, be careful not to use too much past as this has the tendency to create solder bridges. Try installing another device after breaking the trace that shorts pin 64 to ground.

    Thank you for your suggestion, I disconnect that pin from Ground but the overheating remains, the point is this Device is A little expensive and my sources are limited and the ADS1299 is very sensitive to any overheating so my chances are limited for retry.do you think the only problem is that specific pin and this time if i solder a new ADS1299 everything will be fine if i obey the point that you said?

  • Hello Sohrab,

    I do not see anything else in your schematic that would suggest a short circuit. Everything else is connected in what looks to be a valid way. Perhaps it was not that pin either. Perhaps there is something that was accidentally soldered together.
