DAC161S997 temperature specs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC161S997, DAC161P997

My customer is considering using a DAC161S997 in a 4-20mA circuit, but the temperature specifications are incomplete so they cannot be certain it will produce the accuracy we need over its full operational temperature range, however the nearly DAC161P997 does provide these specifications.  They would like to use the DAC161S997 because it has a SPI interface, but need confirmation from TI that DAC161S997 has the same accuracy specifications over its full operational temperature range as DAC161P997.

Also, what is the meaning of MIN and MAX in the datasheet?  Are they worst case values, 6 sigma lower and upper spec limits, or do they have some other statistical meaning.

  • Hi Taylor,

Both parts are built using the same architecture and process. The DAC161S997 probably has similar performance over temperature as the DAC161P997, but it is not something that we can guarantee because it is not in the datasheet. Sorry about that.

The min and max values are worst case limits. Parts will not have a value outside of the limits.
