Dear all,

We would like to use a ADS1602evm Analog-to-Digital Converter in CCS version 6. Unfortunately, it seems like ADS1602 is not supported on code composer studio version 4 and above. Is there any alternative way, or any examples that demonstrates the usage of ADS1602 in a newer version of CCS, such as CCS v5 or 6?

p.s: We have ADS1602EVM.

Hi Sajad,

What Ki-Soo meant was that the Data Converter Plug-In tool is no longer supported in CCS V6. With the release of CCS V4, the DC Plug-in tool no longer worked within the confines of Code Composer Studio GUI. The ADS1602 will work under CCS V6, we just don't have any 'off the shelf' library of function calls to configure the device.

Yes, sorry for the confusion. The plug-in is not supported with CCSv4+ since the CCS framework changed since CCSv3.

Hi Sajad,

Which processor (DSK) are you using? There may be CCS v.6 example projects using McBSP that you might be able to use as a starting point.

Thank you for your prompt reply.
We are using OMAP L138 LCDK. This LCDK contains two processors, Arm and C6748(DSP). We would prefer to use the Arm processor for this task.

Tom mentioned that we no longer have 'off the shelf' library of function calls to configure the device. We would like to develop our own library of functions to configure the device, if possible. Is there any advice, guideline, or tutorials on how to configure the ADS1602 device?
The second question is, do you have any alternative recommendation, or advice?

Hi Sajad,

Let me look around and see if I can find the old DCPin functions for the ADS1602, they might be a good place to start. You can also try posting a query on the OMAP forum to see if anyone has code examples for the McBSP peripheral.
