about ADC10464 and ADC10664 conversion time VS temperature

Hi dear expert,

My customers use ADC10464 in their system, since this part PCN is soon end of production, customers are considering to use ADC10664 to replace ADC10464.

They have a question about the conversion time VS temperature. From the datasheet, the curve seems quite different.

Below snapshot is from ADC10464 datasheet.

*Below* snapshot is from ADC10664 datasheet.

The two curves are quite different, ADC10464 conversion time is increasing as temperature increases. HOwever, ADC10664 is the opposite way. Those two chips internal structure is similar and p2p compatible, why the conversion time VS temperature curve is so much different?

Can you please look at and provide explanation? Looking forward to your reply.

Sorry, one typo: ADC10464 conversion time is *decreasing* as temperature increases. HOwever, ADC10664 is the opposite way.

Hello Joyce,

They have different characteristics because they are different designs. The ADC10664 was designed to be a faster part. It is not just the ADC10464 running at a faster speed. They were however designed to have the same internal block diagram and to have the same pinout.

Note also the speed differences. The ADC10464 has a conversion time of about 540ns for its faster conversion time. The ADC10664's slowest conversion time is 430ns and is about 360ns at room temp.
