How to programmatically communicate with ADS1282 EVM ?

I have the ADS1282EVM-PDK. While my application is not specific yet, I want to be able to get the ADC readings in my program rather than ADCPro in real-time. 

Are there any examples of communication with the ADS1282 EVM with or without using the MMB0 motherboard ?

From the PDK User's guide, I was able to find that header J5 supports SPI and I2C interfaces for communication. Are there any code samples for communication using these pins ?

I want to interface this board to a Raspberry Pi/Beaglebone black. Any guidance/directions in this regards are highly appreciated.
