ADS4249EVM can not connected by USB, and High Speed Data Converter Pro Software shows strange code form.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS4249EVM

Recently, we newly purchase a ADS4249EVM combine with TSW4806EVM and TSW1405EVM for analog data acquiring. But

First, I find I can not connect to the USB to ADS4249EVM. While for TSW4806EVM and TSW1405EVM, I can easily connect it well.

Second, after I connected all the cards, I find the output from High Speed Data Converter Pro Software is strange. For example, if I input the sine wave signal, I will get some strange wave in codes form.Like some square wave with top and bottom carve oppositely. Will anybody tell me why, thanks a lot!

Input is sine wave with Vpp=1V, output is as following,

  • Dewen,

Are you able to write to the ADS4249EVM or are you using parallel programming mode? The data looks like the format is wrong coming out of the ADC. Switch the mode to 2's compliment. If it is already using this mode, switch it to unsigned binary.

    Regards,

    Jim

  • Thanks, Jim. I have switched, it works, the coding wave is normal now. Thanks a lot!

Now I still can not connect the ADS4249EVM througth the USB and the official software (
ADS42xxx SPI GUI) so I can not write anything to the ADS4249EVM.

    Best regards,
    Dewen
  • Dewen,

Please try the steps that are list in a previous post that can be found at the link below. Verify that the on board jumpers are set per the photo in the post. By default, the boards are shipped for parallel mode and a few jumpers have to be removed to allow for serial mode (GUI) operation.

    Jim

  • Hi Jim,
