Hello,
I have a legacy design that currently uses the same +5V supply for "+V" and "VDRV." If I instead power VDRV from the +3.3V supply will that effect edge rates and/or propagation delay?
Thank you,
Eian

Hi,
I note that the datasheet actually recommends that the VDRV be driven by the lower voltage supply, but allows for both supply pins to be connected to the 5V supply as you have been using it. The 3.3V supply for VDRV will lower power dissipation slightly and is the preferred approach. As far as changing the timing, there might be a slight change, but timing should still conform to the table shown on page 5 of the data sheet. I note that where there *are* separate data sheet entries for 3V and 5V on VDRV, there is little or no difference in the specified number such as Voh and Vol on page 3 or the typical power dissipation also in page 3.
