ADS1299

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299, ADS1298, INA118

Hi Sir,

Is there any other recommendation for lower cost of ADS1299, implemented in EEG signals picked up from brain?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

  • Hello Hong,

The ADS1299 is our only integrated front end for EEG measurement. The main challenge with EEG is the signal level is very small which constrains the noise level of the devices in the signal chain. An alternative to the very low noise ADS1299 would be a low noise amplifier and another simultaneous sampling converter like the ADS1298. The challenge with this topology is that the combination of the amplifiers that meet the specification for clinical grade electronics plus the ADC can be more expensive than the ADS1299 on its own. One amplifier that can be used for medical electronics is the INA118.
