ADS127L01 / GUI doesn't start

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS127L01, ADS127L01EVM

Hi,

My customer is trying to evaluate the ADS127L01.

However the device register map is not shown when the GUI starts up.

The message "Hardware Connected Ready..."  is shown in the lower left of the GUI.

And  the following message shows momentary when GUI starts.

What they should do to start up the GUI?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • Hello Kuramochi-san,

Can you please share the GUI version and the ADS127L01 Device Package version that your customer is using?

    Thanks and regards,
    Ryan
  • Kuramochi-san,

The message you saw appears when the GUI cannot find the EVM device package files. Make sure that you have downloaded "ADS127L01EVM-DVCPKG" from the ADS127L01EVM product folder. Also, make sure the User Directory is pointed to the correct folder where the device package files are located:

Let me know if this fixes the issue.

    Best Regards,

  • hello Ryan Andrews,

i am facing same problem as Tadahiko Kuramochi mentioned above. i read your suggestion and change user directory that is C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\DSEvalSW.

please guide me is it ok or i need to do some things else. because still facing same problem.

  • Hi Rahul,

The folder you mentioned contains the drivers and other necessary files for the Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software. It does not contain the Device Package files for the ADS127L01 (i.e. Register Map, Commands, etc.). The files you need to point to in General->User Directory are located in your My Documents folder.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Ryan Andrews,

Device Package file for ADS127L01 is not present in My Document folder.

Please guide me link to download Device Package file for ADS127L01 and should i paste manual at My Documents folder.

and then i should select that folder in General ->User Directory of Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software.

    ADS127L01EVM-DVCPKG:
    ADS127L01EVM Device Package                                    ACTIVE

    DELTASIGMAEVAL-GUI:
    Delta-Sigma ADC EvaluaTIon Software                           ACTIVE

Link that is given on site for Device Package file for ADS127L01 as mentioned above is .exe file. (I think i need Device Package for ADS127l01 As folder so that i can select in General ->User Directory of Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software.)

    Waiting for your valuable support.

    Thanks and Regards

  • Hi Rahul,

The link for the ADS127L01 Device Package is located under "Order Now" section of the EVM product page with the orderable links for the EVM and the Delta-Sigma EvaluaTIon Software. Have you requested the ADS127L01 Device Package?

Once you download and run the installer for the device package, the ADS127L01 Device Package files will be located under your "C:\Users\...\Documents\DSEvalSW" folder.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Ryan Andrews,

AS per your guidance i install the ADS127L01 Device Package. after installing its by default showing location is :

    "C:\Users\s05470rahul\Documents\DSEvalSW".

But still i am facing same problem.(Register map not showing)

what should i do  now, please suggest.

    Regards

  • Hi Rahul,

Does the User Directory in the GUI options match the location of the device package files? "C:\Users\s05470rahul\Documents\DSEvalSW"

Please confirm a few details to know whether the firmware is running properly on the EVM:

    1. Are only D2, D3, and D4 turned on? D1 should be off.
    2. Does the GUI welcome screen refresh to show the Device Tab?
    3. Do you see "Register Map" or "ADS127L01 Register Map"in the top-left corner?

If Steps 1 and 2 above were successful, but you only see "Register Map" in the top-left corner of the Device Tab, then the GUI cannot find the ADS127L01 Device Package files. Make sure the User Directory is correct and do the following steps:

    1. Ensure that all jumpers/switches are in their default positions.
    2. Connect the EVM to your PC with the USB cable.
    3. Start the GUI.
    4. Press the RESET button if the Register Map does not load after #3 (should not be necessary).

    Best Regards,
