auto run ADC12J4000?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC12J4000, LMK04828, TRF3765

Hello~~ all.

I Use ADC12J4000 EVM board.

After the power on it can be executed automatically without clicking the "program clocks and ADC"?

I want to enable operation without running the "ADC 12J4000EVM GUI".

Thank you.

  • Hi Lucy

The ADC12J4000, TRF3765 and LMK04828 devices must be programmed to the proper settings before the board is ready for use.

The board is configured by default to have this process done using the EVM GUI and the UBS to serial device on board. There are some automation functions written in LabVIEW to interface with High Speed Data Converter Pro as well as the ADC12J4000 GUI. You can find them in your High Speed Data Converter Pro folder, typically located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\High Speed Data Converter Pro\Automation Function APIs

You can use the Write Device GUI Register API.vi and Read Device GUI Register API.vi to manipulate the NCO values.

Alternatively the board could be re-configured to allow the FMC Capture Board to control the SPI signals and drive the configuration process. Sheet 6 of the EVM schematics shows the component assembly options which are used to select "to/from FTDI" versus "to/from FMC". The resistors in the "to/from FTDI" positions would need to be removed, and the ones for the "to/from FMC" installed. This would also require firmware and/or software changes in whatever FMC Capture Board is being used.

    Best regards,

    Jim B
