If the device is set to 2's comp either through the SEN pin (parallel mode, table 6 of data sheet) or through register 0x50 bits D2-D1 in serial mode (page 25 of data sheet), the range of the output will be from 1FFFh (8191) to 2000h (-8192). 0000h would be 0 dec.
