ADS7953-Q1 Daisy Chain Operation

I have a customer asking if there is any way to daisy chain the ADS7953-Q1.

I do not see this as a possibility after looking at the data sheet, but is there any way that the serial data can be passed through using the SDI/ SDO path through the device?

He stated the following:

Often the SPI interface is a shift register (image) which automatically passes the SDI data to the SDO output while CS is active and reads/writes to the register when CS comes inactive. This allows daisy chain operation.

I do not see this as a possibility from the information given in the data sheet, but I promised the customer that I would ask.

If you have a design that could connect the ADS7953-Q1 in a pseudo-daisy-chain connection can you please send it?

Hello Richard,

ADS7953-Q1 does not support daisy chain.

This device has three different modes, but generally works the same on the interface side. The user can write to the registers at any time, it taking effect on the next frame; this can vary a bit depending on the mode used but the differences do not affect this topic. A falling edge of CS initiates valid data output, no matter the mode being used, the device needs a minimum of 16 SCKL cycles to finish transmitting. Once done, no matter the state of CS (if still low or gone high), SDO will then be in a tri state, essentially eliminating it from the circuit. Do you know what exactly the customer was trying to do?
