adc12j4000 input impedance matching

Hello

  1. The a/d input circuit in our design is copied from the evaluation board (single ended input with 10pF in series to the B0430J50100AHF Balun and then input differentially to the ADC).
  2. Now, the return loss of the balun in the BW (1500MHz-2500MHz) is not so great.

Do I need an impedance matching network?

If so, would you recommend on a discrete network of rather a microstrip based network?

Best regards,

Itai

  • Hi Itai

If your application cannot tolerate the return loss of the initial design you should add a matching network.

I think the choice of matching network type is up to you, based on your familiarity with either type and it's ability to provide a broadband match from 1500 MHz to 2500 MHz.

    Best regards,
