Hello

In my application there's a low power mode, and I'm requeired to return to full functionality after a specific time from the wakeup signal.

For the following DAC's DAC38J84 and DAC3482

What is power down mode (table 6.5)? What is the difference between this mode and sleep mode?

What is the wake up till the DAC is ready from both modes?

Do I need to run full initialization sequence when I return from power down or sleep mode?

Izik,

Sleep mode disables the core bias but does not disable the clocks. In this case, the internal clocks stay running and you would not have to do a full initialization when returning from sleep mode. For the other modes such as power down, pll_sleep or CLK_RECV_sleep modes, these all turn off the clocks and a full initialization would be required.

Izik,

For deep sleep requiring full initialization, the time depends on the FPGA and system start-up time.

For the DAC348x products with LVDS bus, the initialization time is based on the FRAME/ISTR syncing time to re-initialize the FIFO and clock divider.

For the DAC38J84 products with JESD interface, the initialization time is based on the re-init of the JESD interface. Customers will need to measure this with their own JESD IP.

I need to know the wake up time from sleep mode which doesn't require full initialization, but only the change of the logic level at sleep pin.

Hello Izik,

The only sleep mode to support fast wake up time (or sleep time) without full initialization is the DAC sleep mode. This basically shuts off the DAC analog core to save the 3.3V analog power rail. The expected wake-up time is the same as sleep time, which is 2us each.
