Asking for the ADS1013 address and the usage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1013, ADS1014, ADS1015

Hi Team,

Please help for customer's questions.

1.  What is the slave address if tieing the ADDR to GROUND? 0x90(write) and 0x91(read)? in datasheet table 5.

2. ADS1013 said thaat AIN0 and AIN1 is the differential. Could customer use AIN1 and AIN0 as single end input? AIN! for the temperature and AIN1 for the keypad detection. Please help check.

Thanks,

SHH

  • Hi SHH,

The address is 7 bit for the ADS1013 and the 8th bit is for read/write.  So yes, read for the address pin grounded would be 0x90 + 0x01 (0x91) and write would be 0x90 + 0x00 (0x90).

The ADS1013 can be used in single-ended mode but you only get one measurement channel as one input must connected to GND.  There is no internal connection on either the ADS1013 or ADS1014 to GND.  However the ADS1015 has a mux capable of connecting AINN internally to GND allowing for 4 single-ended measurements.  Two ADS1013 devices would be required to measure 2 single-ended sensors.

    Best regards,
