ADS8319 - No output after 2.5V

Hello,

Am using ADS8319, in 3-Wire with busy indicator.

Am getting proper values for analog voltage below 2.5V,

for 2.5V am getting ADC value of 32767, but if I increase the input analog voltage above 2.5V, it is still giving 32767.

kindly suggest me the solution ASAP.

    Hi Imran,

    what's your SCLK frequency? what's your CPOL and CPHA? It seems that one data bit is missed, every data bit should be read during 5ns after the falling edge of SCLK (t2 shown in the picture as below and also please check the timing table in datasheet), this is the most possible reason you missed one bit, please check your SPI timing.

    Please don't use power supply as voltage reference input to ADS8319, and the noise and ripple will degrade the performance, also it's critical to drive the reference pin which probably lead to setting error on reference and degrade the performance as well. ADS8319's datasheet has recommended REF5050+buffer(Figure 47) to drive the reference pin, or REF6050 which is a high precision voltage reference with integrated drive buffer can be used.
