AFE 4404 PPG Signal Noise

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4404

Hi,

I am using an AFE4404 with the NJL5513R sensor to measure blood oxygen. When I am reading in the PPG wave, I usually get unreadable data. I am reading on the finger currently. Do anyone have suggestions on how to make this more clean data? Here is a picture of one of my readings.

Thank you!

Mitch

  • Hi Mithchell,

Following are few things to consider to get clean PPG signal

    1) Avoid 50/60 Hz pickup: Run the EVM from Laptop with AC Mains unplugged.

    2) You can Enable 50/60 Hz Notch filter in the GUI to filter out any remaining noise.

    3) Instead of looking LED phase data, look for LED-Ambient data (i.e. "LED2-LED3" or "LED1-LED1 Ambient").

    Regards,
