ADS1292 Power Supply and power-up sequence

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1292

When supply the MCU and ADS1292 through the SWD programming interface with 3.3V only, in the  AVDD pin of ADS1292 can detect the 3.3V,which is DVDD.

Is that mean the ADS1292 do not do the isolation between Analog supply and Digital supply?

At the same time I realized that the power-up sequence of ADS1292 must be taken care seriously.

The sequence of AVDD and DVDD's power-up may influence the initialization of ADS1292, is that right?

  • Hi He Jiang,

Welcome to the E2E Forum! The AVDD and DVDD supplies in the ADS1292 are seperate. If you see voltage at the AVDD pin while only applying DVDD, you are most likely back driving the AVDD supply through an ESD cell. Power-up sequencing for the ADS1292 is described on page 62 of the datasheet. The recomendation is to power up both AVDD and DVDD, followed by pulsing the RESET pin low and waiting 18 tCLK cycles before you begin the process of setting up the registers.
  • Thanks a lot !

    I have solved my problem!

The POWER-UP SEQUENCING of ADS1292 is a really important thing!

My ADS1292 worked well when I recoded my DeviceInit program of ADS1292  according to the Power-Up Timing Diagram carefully!

    Thanks again!

  • Great! Thank you for letting us know He Jiang!
