Hi,
Kindly suggest suitable A to D Converter to be used in a 32 channel scanner with universal input (0 to 10V, 4 to 20mA etc etc)
Is ADS1263 the best fit ? if not, suggest the best part suitable for this

Hi Atul,
In terms of channel count the ADS1258 (24-bit Delta-Sigma ADC) and ADS7953 (12-bit SAR ADC) both provide 16 analog inputs and would have much faster sampling rates when scanning through the channels. There is also the ADS1158 (16-bit Delta-Sigma ADC) if you don't need 24-bit resolution.
The ADS1263 only has 11 input pins, which allow for a total of 10 single-ended analog input signals; hence you would need twice as many (a total of 4) ADS1263's to achieve 32 input channels.
In all of these cases, you would need still some external circuitry to attenuate and buffer the 0 to 10 V signal. The ADS1258, ADS1158 and ADS7953 provide MUX output pins and ADC input pins which can save you space by allowing you to use a single buffer for all 16 inputs.
Are there any other performance specifications that would be important to your application?
If so, let me know so that I can recommend the best options to meet your needs!
Best Regards,
Chris
