Bioimpedance Maximum

We are trying to read correct impedance values through a localized area of the body using the FWR measure, however the impedance readings maxes out at 2388.59 ohms.  This seems very small for a bioimpedance value.  What can we do to get accurate readings above 2388.59 ohms?  What electrodes do you use to attach to the skin?

  • Hi Matt,
Impedance reading maxes out ~2388 because of ADC saturation.
If you want to measure higher than 2388 Ohm, you have to reduce the excitation current so that ADC doesn't see more than Vref(i.e. 1.7V).
One way to reduce the current is using external resistor. In the EVM, you can change R69 ( By default its 0Ohm) accordingly to reduce the excitation current.
