Running DAC38J82EVM & LMK04828EVM programs with error on PC

My customer is trying to run the programs for DAC38J82EVM and LMK04828EVM on PC. On some PCs they work well, on the other PCs it doesn't work. They experimented on clean Windows 7 and Windows 10. It still doesn't work.

Yauheni,

What version is the DAC GUI they are using? Are they running any other GUI's at the same time? Does this problem occur if the LMK GUI is closed? Some older versions of the DAC GUI had issues when trying to run with other GUI's running at the same time.

Hi Jim,

GUI is the latest version from ti.com.
GUI for LMK is running well but when the customer choose LMK04828B GUI will be closed with the error "Run-time error" attached above.

The appearance of DAC error is independent on other GUI's running. The customer uses the same GUI version on the other PCs and it works well with or without other GUI's running.

Can you tell me the make and model of the PC this GUI is failing on? Is this unit running Windows 7 or 10? We have seen issue with Windows 10 on certain platforms.

Did they try running the GUI as administrator?

Are they using Win 7 or 10 machine?

What exactly happens when they launch HSDC Pro, get an error message or launches and crashes… anything like this?

Yes, they did. They were runningn the GUI as administrator.

They were using both Win 7 and 10 machine.

They didn't use HSDC Pro GUI because thought it was for TSW14xx series, not for DAC38J82EVM or LMK04828EVM, was it?

Yauheni,

HSDC Pro GUI is only for TSW14xxx series. The DAC and LMK have their own GUI's.

The customer found the reason of the error.
It was the mistake in choosing the separating character when they were installing Windows 7/10. They had to change ',' (comma) on '.' (dot). There was the note about that. Usually, we don't read such instructions carefully.
