TLC2933A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC2933A, TLC2932, TLC2932A

Hi

I'm after some support in designing a filter for the TLC2933A. Its appears to have changed from the TLC2933 and I'm unsure if the calculations still hold true. I need reject jitter as much as possible and any notes etc would be a great help.

  • Yuliya,

Thank you for your interest in the TLC2933A.  We will check into the differences between the TLC2933 and TLC2933A and reply to your question as soon as possible.

  • Yuliya,

Attached is what I have been able to find on the TLC2933A loop filter.  It contains a loop filter recommended for the TLC2933A.

Compared to the TLC2933, the TLC2933A has a wider lock range and the VCO gain is different, so the loop filter is not the same.

    Other differences:

    - The TLC2933A is specified at 3.3V.

    - Pin 8 of the TLC2933Amust be connected to GND

       Questions about your application:

       - Vdd requirements

       - Frequency to Fin-A : ? Hz

       - VCO out frequency : ? MHz
       - Jitter performance requirement : ? nsec
       - Lock speed : ? msec

  • Hi Larry,

Would seek help in the following:

Customer has an old board designed with TLC2932 , with pin 8 left unconnected.(NC).

TLC2932A , supposed to replace this older chip, and pin 8 need to be connected to GND .

In specific, if using TLC2932A, and pin 8 left NC , what would be the side effects ?

Able to share a rough schematic (internal chipset of TLC2932A), or rough system architecture will do .

This is for customer to gauge effects of any stray voltage /or floating voltage at pin 8 ( if left NC, for TLC2932A)

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

Can anyone here suggest what frequency divider is most suited for TLC2933A??

    Warm Regards,
