ADS1292ECG-FE: Cannot get ADS1x9x ECG-FE Evaluation Software to Open Properly

Part Number: ADS1292ECG-FE
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1292,

I have downloaded the Evaluation Software for the ADS1292 demonstration kit, and installed the USB driver for the board, but when I open the software, regardless of whether the device is plugged in or not, I get an error message saying:

"An error occured with error code 8

Create Folder in ADS1x9xEVM_Main.vi<APPEND>

C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ADS1x9xevm\saved"

I'm able to click "okay" and continue clicking on buttons in the software GUI, but various error messages continue to pop up whenever I try and do anything that would require the PC to interact with the evaluation board. For example, if I click on "Start Data Streaming" under the "Live ECG" tab, a window pops up that says,

"An error occured with error code 1097

Call Library Function Node in

ADS1x9x_DLL.lvlib:Select_Filter.vi-

>ADS1x9xEVM_Main.vi"

Also, even though I have the USB driver installed and windows device manager says the connection is working properly, when I try and upgrade the Firmware using the ECG Recorder Firmware Update application, it says "no device is connected" in the "Click Update Firmware" box.

I'm using windows 10, and the requirements for the software say It's for windows 7, so it's possible that is the issue, but I'm confused as to how I should workaround that. If that isn't the problem, what should I do?

  • Hi Alex,

    Welcome to TI E2E forum!
I am moving your post to the Precision Data converters forum where the software tool for ADS1292ECG-FE EVM is supported.
  • Hi Alex,

Welcome to the e2e Forum! Take a look at this post and see if that helps in getting communications established with the ADS1292ECG-FE EVM:

As for the issue with "Create Folder in ADS1x9xEVM_Main.vi<APPEND> C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\ADS1x9xevm\saved", Windows 10 might have created that directoy on your hardrive with write access disabled, or perhaps did not create the folder at all - use Windows explorer and verify that the folder exists (create it if it's not there) and then verify the properties of the folder and make sure its not set as 'read only'.
